LOCATIONS
THE CHARLESTON BAR
The Charleston Bar in Chicago serves as one of the film’s original sponsors. Tucked away in the middle of the residential area of Bucktown, it’s one of the best bars in Chicago, and a solid go to for great cocktails and even better company. The bar will serve as the location for the birthday party turned engagement party.
FAMILY PLANNING
ASSOCIATES MEDICAL
GROUP
Family Planning Associates Medical Group is one of Rabbit Rabbit’s early champions and will serve as the location for the clinic in which Eeva gets her abortion.
FPA is working tirelessly to keep abortion care available and safe for people in Chicagoland and those traveling from throughout the Midwest and South where abortion is either banned or severely restricted. They work closely with Chicago Abortion Fund, another vital organization based in Chicago providing financial, logistical and emotional support to people seeking abortion care. THE CITY OF CHICAGO
Rabbit Rabbit is an ode to Chicago inside the neighborhoods that colored Poppy and Cassidy’s twenties and followed them into their 30s.
Rooftop nights, neon makeouts, the sound of the blue line shaking above as you walk away from regret, the new donut store that's a taco truck that's a Malort pop up, the liquor store that's just a cheap bar for old Polish men.Fred Hampton's city, the city of the Days of Rage, the Chicago Freedom movement, and Obama’s victory speech. The city where the Janes were founded. The laboratory of the perfect hot dog. The promise of the beach that's not even close to an ocean, sounds of gunshots and fireworks on the other side of the park and the shudder into love lives, the Midwestern goodbye that lasts for two more and a compliment: Chicago.
EEVA + BABY’S
APARTMENT
Baby and Eeva live above the Charleston Bar in a classic Chicago two bedroom with feminine flourishes and slight bachelor energy. The rent is cheap, and the apartment is falling apart, but in a romantic way; Flowers, dead plants, sparkles, various pinks and soft lighting. The space is clearly set up to have good feng shui, but it’s always a little messy and lived in. Like a fun house but with taste, and comfortable.
THE SOAP OPERA
The Soap Opera is an elaborate set of the fictional soap opera that captures Baby's full attention, “Nearly At The End.” Its distinct visual aesthetic works in direct contrast to the film’s practical locations and serves as a liminal space for Baby to explore and make sense of her emotions.
